To work with BrightStar Care of Lexington / West Columbia as an in-home caregiver or nurse, you must be properly trained, certified, and/or licensed in line with South Carolina state law. We also require all employees to pass a background check, drug screen, and tuberculosis (TB) test and have current CPR certification.
Yes, our Director of Nursing—a registered nurse (RN)—provides clinical oversight and guidance for all caregivers and nurses working at our Lexington / West Columbia home care agency. Through this nurse-led care model, our care team gets immediate feedback on client conditions, care plan adjustments, and proper care procedures.

Non-medical caregivers working with BrightStar Care of Lexington / West Columbia do not need a formal state license. Though, certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and home health aides (HHAs) may be required to complete additional state-approved training. 

We also require background checks, drug screens, tuberculosis (TB) tests, and CPR certification for all caregivers working with our in-home care clients.
