Private duty nursing is one-on-one, continuous skilled nursing care provided to a single patient in their home. Nurses focus entirely on one patient per shift, providing personalized, consistent care. These patients often require nursing skill sets focused on trach, g-tube, vent, catheter care, and medication administration.
- Private Duty Nursing: Ongoing, hourly 1:1 care with 8, 10 or 12-hour shifts.
- Traditional Home Health Nursing: Short, intermittent visits for specific treatments, infusions, injections, etc.
