BrightStar Care provides skilled nursing services in the home.  Our nursing teams are equipped in managing a variety of patients in the home, offering services that include private duty 1:1 care, as well as traditional home health services.  Our nurses support pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients throughout the Greater Louisville area, including neighborhoods and surrounding communities such as Louisville Metro, Jeffersontown, St. Matthews, Shively, Prospect, and Mount Washington.
 
We focus on home-based care that allows patients to receive high-quality, personalized nursing in the comfort of their own homes.

Private duty nursing is one-on-one, continuous skilled nursing care provided to a single patient in their home. Nurses focus entirely on one patient per shift, providing personalized, consistent care.  These patients often require nursing skill sets focused on trach, g-tube, vent, catheter care, and medication administration.

  • Private Duty Nursing: Ongoing, hourly 1:1 care with 8, 10 or 12-hour shifts.
  • Traditional Home Health Nursing: Short, intermittent visits for specific treatments, infusions, injections, etc.

Our nurses care for clients across the Greater Louisville area, including:

  • Pediatric patients, including medically complex children
  • Adult and geriatric patients
  • Individuals with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or recovery needs
  • Consistency of care is a large component of providing nursing services to our patients; therefore, training focused on a specific patient is ideal

Skills vary by case, but commonly include:

  • Tracheostomy care
  • Ventilator management
  • Gastrostomy care
  • Catheter care and management
  • Diabetes management
  • Medication administration

Nurses are matched to local cases based on their skills, experience, and comfort level.

BrightStar Care typically prefers at least one year of nursing experience, especially for complex cases. Each candidate is evaluated individually, and training/support is provided.

Scheduling is based on a personalized case-matching process. Our team will:

  • Review your experience and clinical skill set
  • Discuss your availability and scheduling preferences
  • Match you with a patient within the Greater Louisville coverage area

This ensures a strong fit for both nurse and patient.

Yes! BrightStar Care operates 24/7 in the Greater Louisville area, offering:

  • Day, Evening, and Night shifts
  • Weekdays and weekends
  • Full-time schedules
  • Part-time schedules (typically 1–2 shifts per week)

Most cases have 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts, depending on patient needs.

BrightStar Care provides personal care, companion care, respite care & skilled care. Our caregivers offer meaningful companionship, conversation, and emotional support, while also assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, mobility, meal preparation, and other daily tasks that help clients remain safe and independent.

Our licensed nurses provide a wide range of skilled nursing services which include, but are not limited to, private duty nursing, medication management, wound care, injections, chronic disease management, and other clinical care needs as directed by a physician.

Yes. Our caregivers can provide care wherever it is needed, including in private homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, assisted living communities, and other care settings.

Yes. We accept many long-term care insurance plans and can assist with the billing process and required documentation.

Yes. Caregivers can assist with many day-to-day activities, including running errands, grocery shopping, and picking up prescriptions, depending on the client’s needs.

Yes. BrightStar Care provides care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays.

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We also provide 24/7 on-call support for clients and families.
