We have been very happy with Lisa, who has provided great care for my dad. I love that she is super communicative, reliable, kind and has a great attention to detail. My dad trusts her and that bring me a lot of comfort. I would be happy to recommend BrightStar Care for others looking for home care in Madison.

Our elderly father who lives independently recently fell and needed someone to check in on him daily. Brightstar arranged for Regina (who has become his consistent caregiver)to provide him with daily care. My dad is resistant to ask for help but Regina has a way with him. She provides whatever she thinks he needs and he won't turn her down. She takes him for walks, drives to appointments, cleans, cooks, does laundry, grocery shops, makes sure he takes his meds and provides him company. She treats our dad like he is her own parent, how much more can a family hope for. We were blessed to find her.

I am very appreciative of the care that I receive from my caregiver Kaila. She helps me with showers, keeping my condo clean/organized, ordering my groceries and so much more. She even makes me great home cooked meals to enjoy since I can no longer cook. She is always so positive and happy which makes me look forward to our visits. She goes above and beyond every time she cares for me. She always makes sure I have everything I need!

I made the decision to place my husband in BSL Waunakee Memory Care 2.5 yrs. ago. It is the best decision I could have ever made in terms of finding support for both my husband & me. The building is exceptionally clean & well maintained. Fresh fruit & vegetables are an integral part of the delicious meals & snacks. There are many creative, fun daily activities for residents to choose from according to their interests. Professional musical entertainment is a biweekly event. The Executive Director, Ryan, along with the Community Director & nurses, have ALWAYS been readily available & responsive to my husband & my needs. The caregivers are attentive & compassionate…. if they aren’t, they don’t remain at BSL. Even with the current labor shortage, BSL has not lowered their standards for employment or compromised the care residents receive. Over the past years my husband’s dependency has greatly increased. The BSL Staff has been dedicated to his well being throughout his long dementia journey & his many new challenges. My husband is now fed each meal, & his diet is personalized to his special needs. He is ALWAYS clean & appropriately dressed when I visit him. My husband can no longer ambulated on his own & his eyes are often closed. The BSL Staff “wheel” him to activities. They understand the importance of social contact, even in late stage dementia. They also recognize the need to rotate my husband’s bodily positions. Because of their attention, my husband has not developed bed sores…..that is rare at this late stage of dementia. The decision to place my husband in residential care did not come easily. But, BSL Waunakee has consistently adapted their care to his needs. I will forever be grateful for the high quality, compassionate care that my husband is receiving at BSL Waunakee. It is exceptional.

Brightstar lives up to its name consistently. The entire staff from the director, reception, care team, chef (yes - chef) and housekeeping are warm, friendly and attentive.
I moved my father from a traditional nursing home where it was a continual fight for simple requests and I feel I could not have made a better choice than Brightstar. The team at Brightstar is extremely supportive of my father’s needs in his personal care and quality of life through encouraging entertainment and activities. Usually, whom ever opens the door offers an update on my father as I walk in the door - What he ate, his spirits, disposition and any activities he’s engaged in for the day. Chef Wade make interesting and delicious fresh food - crab cakes, roast duck, Salisbury steak are some of the dishes I’ve tasted and terrific desserts too!
They care about the residents families. While on vacation, I received an email almost every day with some update - The peace of mind. As my father declines, it brings new challenges. They communicate regularly and thoughtfully on the current and future steps in his care.
Thank you to the entire staff have been amazing advocates and I am grateful. Special mention to Bonnie and Sherry who have been invaluable to me. I highly recommend Brightstar!

My husband was hospitalized and we needed to find a home for him in a hurry with memory care and where he could have physical rehab. On a Friday we took a tour of this inviting facility, asked how quickly we could move my husband in, and Liz (community director) went out of her way to make that happen on a weekend. My husband was here for a rehab stay of 5 weeks. Physical therapists and occupational therapists were brought in from an outside source and that worked fine. He would tell you that the best thing at Brightstar was the food. My "best thing" vote goes to the Brightstar employees (and their pets!). We felt at home in a hurry due to the accommodating, friendly, kind, caring staff.

We moved my mother from another memory care facility. After only five days we regret not doing it sooner. We have seen such a change in her. She is happier and more social then she has been in almost a year.
The staff at Brightstar of Madison are not only professional, they truly do care about the folks they are caring for.
Here is a story of our experience having our mom live at BrightStar. Their Life Enrichment Coordinator (not sure if she wants her name shared) created an email address for my mom (who forgot how to use email years ago). Whenever my mom receives an email, the coordinator reads the email to my mom and then, together, they write a response. It opened up a form of communication everyone in my family missed, especially because some of us do not live in the same state.
But this is what made me cry: I had sent an email to mom explaining that her granddaughter was halfway around the world doing animal research. I included a picture of the animal she was observing. Yesterday I visited with mom, and saw that this same Life Enrichment Coordinator had hung on my mom’s wall, a large -text copy of my email (with the picture of the animal). Next to the email the life enrichment coordinator had placed a map of the world and included a picture of my mom over Wisconsin and a picture of her granddaughter over the country where she’s conducting research. Wow. Thank you BrightStar.
