Wow, what an incredible experience with BrightStar Care of RC. They really saved me and my family in what was probably the toughest time we've ever had. My father's wish was to stay in the home, and have in-home hospice, and to pass away there. I really did not see how that would be possible, even though he was already on in-home hospice. Hospice / Medicare does not nearly provide for the daily needs of a dying person at home, on hospice. We called on BrightStar for in-home care-giver support, for my father, who was dying of multiple terminal illnesses, and my mother, who needed tons of support in the home, support us siblings could not provide on a daily basis. At first my father resisted in-home care, but by the time we were able to convince him to hire a care-giving company, it was almost too late. We were clearly over our heads and out of our league. Essentially, we needed to replicate the basic functioning of a hospital room, with equipment from hospice, but also get the qualified and caring people there to help us all through my father passing. We were really afraid of what all might happen since we did not have the knowledge or skill to properly care for my father (or mother in that stage, who had been the primary care-giver for the past 7 months). The final month and a half of my father's death could have been miserable for him and the rest of the family, had it not been for BrightStar's amazing assistance. They provided the most compassionate, patient and qualified care we could have imagined. My father got along right away with his first primary care-giver, brought in for initially only 12 hours a week to help with everything other than a nurses duties, and administration of medications. She was so great...after my Dad passed we actually kept her on to help my mother! Ultimately, her hours were quickly ramped up to everyday, then everyday full time up to 40 then 45 hours a week. What a Godsend! Her great care, and the backup care of others through BrightStar, helped us to focus on what was most important, spending quality time with my father and preparing for his passing. Finally, in the last week, we had 24/7 care through BrightStar. Zalfa (owner) and her husband George, were unbelievable. Such great service, and accommodating our every need without question, and when we thought it were not possible. One day, a decline occurred, and we needed to ramp up to 24/7 care as soon as possible. Zalfa was able to get that covered, STARTING THE SAME DAY. Unbelievable, and literally was a life saver. In the end, my father came to rely upon, trust and go to for advice and help, the caregiver, as if she were part of our own family (better in many cases). It was almost unbelievable how smoothly my father's passing ultimately went. Beyond our wildest dreams of a positive outcome for the whole family, relative to how badly it all could have been if we did not have the help of Zalfa, BrightStar, and the great, great caregivers BrightStar provided. In the end, with the 24/7 need and weekend coverage, plus the primary person we relied upon, we worked with seven (7) BrightStar caregivers, working with us around the clock, allowing us to sleep, eat well, and be there for Dad. All had wonderful attributes to offer my father and our family in his final weeks, and our most difficult time. Thank you so much, Zalfa and the caregivers!! I honestly don't know what we would have done without you.
Melisa from the Rancho location has been an incredible caretaker for my mom. My mom has Parkinson’s dementia and is a high fall risk, requiring full assistance with daily activities. Melisa consistently provides attentive, compassionate care and treats my mom with genuine kindness and respect. She is always friendly, patient, and loving, which gives our family real peace of mind.
