BrightStar Care of Richmond provides support for families and seniors, including 24/7 to hourly private duty Home Health Care and Medical Staffing Services.

At BrightStar Care, we continue to work on the front line of COVID-19, providing Employee Screenings, and caring for our most vulnerable populations. Our caregivers and healthcare professionals include CNA’s, LPN’s and RN’s. Nurture Virginia
Nurture Virginia provides assistance to expecting mothers and new parents. They are conducting a webinar series that includes parenting advice during the COVID-19 pandemic and maintaining mental health throughout pregnancy and as a new parent. Virginia Department of Education

Virginia Department of Social Services (DSS)
Many Virginians may be eligible for SNAP (food assistance) during this time. The DSS is expanding SNAP benefits by providing all SNAP recipients the maximum monthly allotments for their household size. Households may file applications, by mail or hand-deliver to the local DSS, by fax, by telephone to the Enterprise Customer Service Center at 855-635-4370 or online at www.commonhelp.virginia.gov. The DSS provides a Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer to provide temporary food benefits to parents whose children would receive free or reduced lunch if schools were open.

For essential personnel needing childcare assistance, the DSS provides a Child Care Subsidy program. See the FAQ and Childcare Guidance for information on how to register as well as additional changes being made due to COVID-19.

Virginia Navigator can help families find support groups, low-cost or free respite care, in-home assistance, financial assistance, and other local resources for caring for an adult loved one.
