Thank you BrightStar Care of Santa Barbara County for helping our mom when she needed more care than we could provide in her home. Susan is an angel. She learned our mom’s every need, and she anticipated when she would need additional services. This service allowed us to maintain our own jobs while we cared for our mom! Thank you, BrightStar Team. Your services make seniors able to happily live at home for as long as possible.

When LUIS IGARTUA-SOUTHGATE came to us in early 2023, to care for my husband who was in late-stage Alzheimers, we agreed on a few days a week, a few hours a day. Immediately, we experienced a dramatic and positive energy in our home—all due to LUIS—and changed our arrangement to full-time. Best decision I’ve ever made. Two years later, I have only one regret: I wish I’d known LUIS much sooner. Here are the qualities I was seeking in a caregiver for my husband: 1) confident 2) organized 3) sense of humor 4) dependable 5) compassionate 6) trustworthy 7) detailed focused 8) patient and understanding 9) physical strength and stamina 10) track record of success. LUIS checked all the boxes. He was an important part of our family for two years. My husband, Gary, was in the late stage of Alzheimers Disease and required 24/7 care. He was bed-bound, immobile, incontinent, and non-verbal. As such, LUIS had his hands full: Gary was dependent on him for all personal care, meal preparation, feeding, etc. It was a lot. When LUIS was here I felt a weight lift off me. His manner and skills made every shift he worked smooth and pleasant. I always knew that we were in the presence of a skilled and experienced professional. LUIS was organized, punctual, flexible, and meticulous. He was caring and warm, a compassionate and fun companion. He always went above and beyond my expectations. Most importantly, he exuded confidence and joy—I knew that our home situation would always be calm and under control when he was here. It was clear to me since Day One that LUIS enjoys his work—a true “calling” in my mind. I know that I am fortunate to have had him with us, and I know that he will be a force for good for any family who needs him and is fortunate enough to secure his services.

BrightStar Care has been instrumental in helping my dad stay at home with family and grandchildren; they provide excellent care to him, along with crucial respite to his family caregivers. The admin staff, including the nurse and scheduling teams, is great with communication and listens to our concerns. The in-home caregiving staff has been excellent, with particular shoutouts to Audali, Jennifer, and Souri for their compassionate care for my dad that supports our whole family.

Brighthouse office staff and infusion nurses recently attended to my 83 year old husband who is suffering from a rare autoimmune disease. Anna, Virgina and Michelle were outstanding RN’s. Not only did they have exceptional credentials and experience in ICU abd ER settings, but they showed extraordinary compassion and patience. He was weak, afraid and subject to falling. They handled all this in stride and made us both feel comforted. Also they were adept at inserting and removing iv’s painlessly. Likewise the office staff we communicated with, Katherine and Artie, were clear, kind and made rather complicated location arrangements very easy. Everyone showed up on time and stayed as long as needed to do eveything. They even helped us inventory and pack up equipment to be returned. We have had many interactions with medical personnel over the last few years. This organization is head and shoulders above most. We will use them again and highly recommend them. NSW, Santa Barbara

First I'd like to write a review exressed by my husband, who just turned 95. We had our routine visit from Juliet, one of the amazing selfless people who are behind the scenes but ever so important. She asked Danny how he felt about the help. He didn't even hesitate, he dove right into telling her how much he appreciated the BrightStar team that was caring for him. He loves Miriam Ayala, how she's always watching him carefully, how well she anticipates his needs, feeds him, takes his bloodpressure and helps him get up and move about. Summer is also good "for" Danny and "to" Danny, and among the many things she does she makes his favorite lunch, a grilled cheese sandwhich. Amy is softspoken but always ready to do the daily things that need to be done. Lisa Nelson helps Danny by sitting at the computer and reading parts of the book Danny is writing. This has been such a gift in terms of uplifting his spirits and giving him a sense of purpose. The Brightstar team is amazing. Thank you so much. From my perspective, as the caregiver, I cannot thank this organization enough. Professional, compassionate, effective, and truly a Godsend for me. I love the nursing staff. Every one. Miriam is a gem. Summer, Amy and Lisa are all so helpful in their individual ways. I LOVE the fact that everyone of them is different, yet wonderfully good at their job. The scheduling crew are so kind and understanding. Kristen and Robert are always there for a quick "smile" through the phone Juliet is part of the glue that holds things together. Miss Audali Castillo has been so helpful she is very concerned with health also she does a good job cleaning and cooking and also Audali is pleasant and kind.

I just want to take a moment to highlight the increidible work Audali Castillo has done. She's been absolutely outstanding, not only she delivered excellent results, but she's also shown a big heart in everything she does. Her dedidcation, positivity, and work ethic make her a truly valuable part of the team. Thank you for sending her today I would love to have her back, she's awesome, and it's been a real plesure working with her.

A big thanks to Nurse Anne for being extremely Professional, Punctual and Caring. Hopefully my string of infusions are over, however, if more are required in the future, I’ll be requesting Nurse Anne for the friendly home treatment.
