Sharon Perez, MSW
Owner/Director of OperationsAs far back as I can remember my family was in the business of helping people. I bring almost 40 years of experience and education. With a degree in Ultrasound, a degree in Hospital Administration, a Master of Divinity, and a Master of Social Work, I feel I have combined my love for the physical, emotional, as well as psychological needs of the clients and families whom we are privileged to care for. I love the beach, the ocean, and doing anything together with my family.

Michael Perez
Owner/Sales ManagerMost of my career I have been in Sales, Marketing and Finance. I have started several businesses over the years, but never found one that had such a positive impact on people's lives.
Personally, I have experienced the difficulties of being a sole caregiver for a loved one with a terminal illness. During that difficult time, I felt that there was a great need for quality care to help provide rest for those who stay home and care for others. I served four years in the United States Navy, and am a proud veteran.

Angelica Avalos
Scheduling/Training Coordinator / CPR InstructorAt four years old during summer of 1984 in Rupert, Idaho, I joined my mother at her work at a nursing home. I can still remember the faces of those who smiled down at me, and was amazed that my presence alone brought them such joy. This is my first memory of the path my life would take as a career. I am a giver and people pleaser by nature, which has been the key to my role in the home health field.
I originally worked at various schools with special needs children and loved it. However, during the pandemic schools shut down and a growing need for caregivers emerged. I applied at BrightStar Care of Santa Barbara and eventually moved back to Oxnard and joined BrightStar Care of West Ventura County.
I love spending time with my family. I am a mother of three handsome boys and also a grandma to my first and only two-year-old granddaughter! I enjoy crafting, crocheting, and baking. I am so glad to be part of the BrightStar Care team!

I take great delight in exercising, cooking, interior decorating, and creating unique floral arrangements and wreaths. I savor vacationing with my family and aspire to join the Peace Corps someday. I was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin and went to college at the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Rachel Holland
Community Engagement ManagerI have been a Certified Nursing Assistant working in Facilities and in homes for the past decade. As the Community Engagement Manager, my role is twofold: I work with the sales team to interact with our third-party partners, and I conduct supervisory visits on existing Home Care clients. Both of these roles have the ultimate goal of ensuring a higher standard of care.
I am very passionate about what I do and thankful to have been a part of BrightStar Care from its inception. I do have a third role - I am the mother of Riley Mae, who often comes in to help Grandma (Sharon) at the office. Riley's official title is Chief Child Executive, and she always brings a smile to everyone at the office.

Amanda Petersen, BSN, RN
Director of NursingFor as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a nurse and help people. I bring to BrightStar 15 years in healthcare, starting my career as a caregiver, a CNA, and a med tech. I worked mostly with Alzheimer's/Dementia patients in assisted living environments and memory care units. I then became EMT-certified and eventually achieved my Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University.
I have been a Medical Surgical/Telemetry Nurse for 4 years. I was very proud to have been nominated for a prestigious DAISY award for exceptional patient care; my compassion and work ethic are things I am very proud of. I am currently less than a year away from completing my Master's Degree as a Nurse Executive.
I grew up in Valencia where I met and married my high school sweetheart. We have two amazing children - a little girl and a baby boy. In my free time, I love to be outdoors, to travel and explore new places, and to spend quality time with my family. On my 30th birthday, I went sky-diving over Lake Tahoe!
I bring compassion and empathy, positivity and optimism, and a "glass half full" kind of attitude. I believe it takes more energy to be mad than to be happy, and I am so excited to be part of the BrightStar Care team!
