Providing RN oversight on every case from day one
Linda Bruck, RN
How long have you been a Nurse? Having graduated from the Jennie Edmundson Hospital School of Nursing in 1970, I have been a registered nurse for over forty years. What experience do you bring to BrightStar Care®? I worked in a variety of positions within the hospital setting: long-term care and rehabilitation; family-practice clinic; continuation of care senior community; and, served as a post-secondary educator for a community college as well as the American Red Cross. Having the desire to keep updated with current, relevant and practical continuing medical education practices pertaining to the home-care and nursing sector, I completed the Advanced Case Management Certificate Series and the Mental Health and Older Adult Certificate Series through the University of Wisconsin-Madison Professional Development and Applied Studies Department. The advanced-education series focused on person centeredness and best practice approaches to be successful with older adults within their home. Each position I have worked in was a learning experience through developing good communication skills, effective teaching strategies, creating plans of care and educating other team members about the expectations and outcomes of the plans of care, good problem-solving skills, and flexibility/understanding of various situations. Through years of experience with many types of scenarios in the health care industry, remembering that a bit of humor helped to get through the rough times. I believe that I bring all of those qualities to our BrightStar Care team. What aspect of your job are you most passionate about? Meeting the client, hearing and understanding their story, and finding out how BrightStar Care can really impact their day. Knowing that our caregivers can bring each client a bit of both physical and emotional comfort and joy with each visit is a valuable and vital part of my job. I provide A Higher Standard of Care for our BrightStar Care® clients by... Understanding, educating, and reviewing with the direct care staff, RN Case Managers, and the CCMs expectations of quality care. If you have questions about how RN oversight works at BrightStar of WI - Madison, or if want to speak with our Director of Nursing, please call us at (608) 441-8620.
