Cindy Colucci | Director of Nursing
Cindy Colucci, BSN, RN
I obtained my Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 1995 at Cape Fear Community College. In 2017, I graduated from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
I have an extensive nursing background, including clinical pharmaceutical research, Critical Care, Hospice and Palliative Care, Home Health/Home Care, and Long Term Care.
My greatest passion is advocating for my patients. Many times, patients have difficulty advocating for themselves, either due to their physical condition, cognitive status, or simply a fear of speaking up for themselves. It is our job as nurses to be the voice of our patients when they have no voice.
1. Adaptability. With a 38-year background performing on stage as an actor, singer, and dancer, I have developed what I have found to be a very valuable quality that has served me well as a nurse. Our patients come from all walks of life and have very different backgrounds. I have found that I am easily able to build an excellent rapport with all of my patients.
2. Team Player. I will never ask a colleague to perform a task that I am not willing to do myself. Any good leader isn’t afraid to stop what they are doing, put on a pair of gloves, and get the job done!
3. Compassion. This is not a trait that comes naturally to everyone. I consider it a gift that should be shared not only with our clients and patients, but with our employees as well.
