Mike Gager, Chief Technology Officer

“Throughout my career, I’ve chosen to focus my efforts on helping to improve the lives and well-being of others. I’ve found that healthcare, including home care, is a great place to serve well and make a difference. BrightStar Care allows me to fulfill this passion as we work to improve the quality of life for our clients.”

As Chief Technology Officer for BrightStar Care, Mike Gager is focused on ensuring that the company’s technology investments are maximized to provide operational efficiencies for franchisees and better quality outcomes for clients. With nearly two decades of experience in healthcare technology, Mike is well-equipped to lead efforts to continue elevating the company’s tech infrastructure and data optimization.

Committed to constantly improving customer support to franchisees and corporate staff, Mike’s goal is to ensure that digital services are always functioning and active. In order to empower franchisees and their staff to carry out their responsibilities efficiently, he believes that the customer’s voice must inform technology investments and strategies. Mike intends to direct and oversee investments into data and analytics to enable BrightStar Care to be more predictive for internal customers (franchisees and corporate staff) and measures of quality of care.

Prior to joining BrightStar Care, Mike amassed nearly two decades of experience in healthcare technology, including his most recent role of Vice President Clinical Technology and Engineering at Wellpath. While there, he partnered with executive leaders throughout the organization to build portfolios aligned around business objectives to improve and expand clinical IT service offerings. He also spent 12 years leading clinical technology at TeamHealth where he served as Vice President of Enterprise IT.

Mike has been married to his wife, Elizabeth, for more than twenty years and has a teenage son, Jacob. They also have a 6-year-old chocolate lab named Willow and a Dachshund puppy named Piper. Mike enjoys traveling, watching his son’s sports endeavors and attending Tennessee Titans football games with his family.
