When does Spring Start in Charlotte?
Contrary to how the weather may feel right now, winter is not over yet.
Many seniors are ready for the chill in the air to be gone and for Spring to be here. For seniors in Charlotte, winter is almost over. Spring is right around the corner, but when exactly Spring starts varies. The date that Spring officially begins depending on how you look at it. If you go by Daylight saving time, Spring is about to begin in U.S. states on Sunday, March 8, when seniors should set their clocks ahead one hour.
But before you put your winter coat away, you should check when the spring equinox occurs. "If you look at things astronomically, the seasons are decided based on the tilt of the Earth's axis, and spring will start on the spring equinox," according to Metro.co.uk. This year, the spring equinox falls on Friday, March 20. The spring equinox is when the Sun's path crosses the equator, the length of the nights at latitudes +L° and −L° are of equal length.
From a Meteorological view, the seasons are split into four sets of three months, with Spring happening in March, April, and May. Most seniors may consider March 1 as the official start of Spring in Charlotte. Taking the Meteorological view seems best because it means Spring is here sooner, and most Charlotte seniors are ready for that!
