Meet Our Staff
Dennis Lacheney | General Manager
Dennis was originally a native of the Richmond, VA area and moved to Hampton Roads to lead BrightStar Care of Chesapeake / Virginia Beach. He pastored a church for almost 20 years and watched it grow from 3 couples to over 1,500 in weekly attendance. Dennis has a passion for people and he focuses great attention on the excellence and care provided to his BrightStar clients. His desire is to see people cared for like family, and he works to bring a higher standard of quality to the team he leads. Dennis has two adult children and four grandchildren.
Allison Madore | Director of Nursing
Allison began her second career into nursing after 20 years in the Insurance Industry. She decided to go back to college in 1994; graduated with a nursing degree in 2000 and spent several years at various hospitals in the area. Before coming to Brightstar, Allison worked for 19 years at a home health agency in a variety of roles as a RN. She has been a field nurse, quality assurance nurse, nurse liaison, supervisor and clinical manager. Allison is excited to bring her knowledge in home health, management and compliance to Brightstar. She is very passionate about caring for people in their home setting honoring their dignity and privacy while maintaining safety and achieving goals.
Katrina Parker | Community Liason
Katrina has over 25 plus years’ experience in the senor health care industry and has been employed by three major health care providers. She spent 12 of those years in business development and coordinating the start-ups for Alzheimer’s and dementia care assisting living communities in Virginia Beach, Richmond and Atlanta. Her passion is working with families and individuals dealing with Alzheimer’s and other dementias along with aged-related diseases. Katrina earned a BA degree in Business Administration with a specialization in health care managements. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her family, her two dogs, biking, boating, the beach and being outdoors.
Julie Van Gorder | Quality Assurance
Julie has been an RN for 35 years and worked in a variety of nursing roles in her career. Working as a military wife afforded many opportunities for her growth during that time. She has been a neuro nurse, an ICU nurse, a quality assurance nurse and a staff development and an education nurse, which she truly loved.. In homecare she has held multiple roles from field nurse, quality assurance, staff development, ICD coder, private duty supervisor, nurse liaison and director of nursing. Julie is passionate about education and training for both clients and staff members, knowing that knowledge empowers people to do great things.
Jennifer Pierce | Office Manager
Originally from Colonial Heights Virginia, Jennie moved to Chesapeake to become part of the BrigtStar Care team. She has a passion for seeing people helped, served, loved, and taken care of as she would care for her own family. She has worked many years in finance, office management and administration. Jennie has an eye for detail and does everything with excellence. She has 5 children and they are the love of her life.
Samantha Phillips | Staffing Coordinator
Sam discovered a passion for helping people just after high school and she has been hooked ever since. She has held a range of positions in the home health field from caregiver, human resources, staffing coordinator, and many more. Sam joined BrightStar because she identified with the values, friendliness, and opportunity for growth in 2019 as a staffing coordinator and now she serves as staffing coordinator supervisor. In her free time she enjoys being with her family; at the ballfield coaching tee ball and softball, traveling to visit family out of state or hanging out in the backyard with her husband and two children.
Jamie Shifflett | Staffing Coordinator
Jamie has over 5 years of experience as a Staffing Coordinator. She’s worked alongside some of our very own clients as she was also a Personal Care Assistant. Jamie aspires to find your loved one the best caregiver based on their needs. It’s her passion to meet your highest expectations.
In her downtime she enjoys going to Langley Speedway, hanging out with family, and spoiling her nieces and nephew.
Linda Badgley | RN
Linda was born and raised in Virginia Beach. Her first career was in the restaurant business as a manager. When Linda’s husband passed away, she decided to go back to school and become a nurse. She graduated from ODU with her BSN in nursing and has not stopped since that time. Linda is passionate about caring for those that cannot care for themselves and teaching patients and their family members how safely progress towards independence. Linda decided about 13 years ago to become a Certified Wound Nurse. She is highly regarded in the community by both patients and their physicians for her ability to identify wounds and how to heal them quickly. She has worked closely with several general surgeons, vascular surgeons in the area as well as the local wound care clinics. We are very fortunate to have one of the few Certified Wound Nurses in the area working at Brightstar Care. When Linda is not working you can usually find her walking at the mall in the early hours of the day or relaxing with one of her many local family members.
Audrey Nolasco | RN
Audrey has been a nurse since 2007, and has a passion for caring for children. She has experience in critical care, emergency care, transport medicine, and works part time in home health. In her spare time, Audrey enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time on the water, and rescuing hound dogs.
