What Impacts Quality Of Life?: A closer look

January brings a number of things: A new year, new goals and resolutions. We may be more conscious of our physical health; with prompts to mark check-ups on our calendars. An eye exam in January for National Glaucoma Awareness Month, or a Physical next in February for Heart Awareness…the list continues on. More recently though, January has also become known as International Quality of Life Month; a month to more closely evaluate the more specific things that make up our lives, such as the state of our relationships, health, finances, fitness, our happiness at work or home, and our mental health and spirituality.

Finding Your Purpose

Reflecting on quality of life can also lead to thinking back on your life’s purpose and whether you may or not be gratifying it. As we age, the fewer years are left to change the way we live out our purpose. Regardless of age, however, it’s never too late to expand the parts of our lives that will make us happier and more content.
Identifying your purpose in life purpose is the key element in being able to understanding your contribution on this Earth, and to the lives of those around you. It is so easy to lose sight and feel directionless and as though your presence no longer matters; especially the more the world changes. No matter your feelings: You matter. Your presence here has made a difference, and you continue to contribute, just by being yourself.
Life inevitably brings regrets, but we can all do something about choosing what comes next. A few ways we can do that is by:
· Taking more time to reflect on the things you appreciate
· Being more courageous about the things you do, and opening yourself to new experiences
· Exploring your purpose fully, and finding new ones once they are accomplished

Living Your Purpose

Your quality of your life is deeply affected by being able to identify your purpose and how you fulfill it. But how you live also depends greatly on the state of your health, your fitness and the relationships you have. You are better able to prosper and live the rest of your life to its fullest sometimes when you have the help you need.
