Joint Commission Accreditation — The Gold Seal of Approval
Each independently owned and operated BrightStar Care® location is required to pursue Joint Commission accreditation. The Joint Commission is a nationally recognized healthcare quality standards organization that also accredits the nation’s best hospitals and other major health care systems.
Our commitment to clinical quality keeps clients safe in their homes and, in some cases, help prevent hospital readmissions.
When a BrightStar Care office earns The Joint Commission Gold Seal, it means that they have undergone a detailed on-site review by a Joint Commission quality expert who asserts that the location is following BrightStar Care policies and procedures, state licensure, and Joint Commission requirements. BrightStar Care is the only national home care franchise to earn the Enterprise Champion for Quality Award five years in a row.
Enterprise Champion for Quality
This prestigious distinction is awarded to select franchisor organizations with a proven commitment to the highest level of quality and safety, and further sets BrightStar Care apart as a quality-focused care provider. BrightStar Care is one of the charter recipients of this award, the largest national home care franchise to achieve this distinction, and the only home care brand to have received the award every year since its inception in 2013.
To keep in-home healthcare agencies performing to the highest possible standards, The Enterprise Champion for Quality award carries unique eligibility requirements. In order to receive the award, the franchisor must demonstrate that at least 95 percent of their eligible franchises are accredited and in good standing.
To meet the stringent requirements of The Joint Commission, BrightStar Care created systems to ensure continuity of care across its franchise system. Each franchisor creates templates of policies and procedures, integrates Joint Commission standards into training materials and conducts regular “mock evaluations” to help franchisees uphold standards. BrightStar Care also provides seminars, conference calls and additional resources to franchise owners throughout the year to help them remain compliant with the standards.
Best of Home Care® Awards
No other national home care brand earns as many Best of Home Care® awards from Home Care Pulse than BrightStar Care. Home Care Pulse conducts live phone interviews with BrightStar Care clients and caregivers each month. BrightStar Care offices review the feedback from those surveys to identify ways they can improve their services. Those BrightStar Care offices that receive high scores on these surveys qualify for Home Care Pulse’s annual Best of Home Care awards — Leader in Excellence, Provider of Choice, and Employer of Choice. In 2018, more BrightStar Care offices won these awards than any other brand in the category.
Leader in Excellence
Best of Home Care – Leader in Excellence is the highest award a home care provider can earn from Home Care Pulse. “Leader in Excellence” is awarded based on client and caregiver satisfaction ratings collected by Home Care Pulse in telephone interviews. Recipients of this award represent the top 4-5% of providers participating in the Home Care Pulse Satisfaction Management Program. Over a 12-month period, Leader in Excellence Award winners received high client and caregiver satisfaction ratings in areas such as caregiver training, compassion of caregivers, communication, scheduling, client/caregiver compatibility, etc. Leaders in Excellence have also qualified for the Best of Home Care® Provider of Choice and Best of Home Care® Employer of Choice awards.
Provider of Choice
The Best of Home Care – Provider of Choice award is based on client satisfaction ratings collected from telephone interviews performed by Home Care Pulse. These home care providers are best-in-class for providing quality care to their clients. This recognition assures that the provider is trustworthy and has proven their ability to provide outstanding in-home care services.
Employer of Choice
The Best of Home Care – Employer of Choice award is based on caregiver satisfaction ratings collected via telephone interviews by Home Care Pulse. Providers who have earned this award are best-in-class for caregiver satisfaction.
