What does INDEPENDENCE mean to Delray Beach seniors?

February 3, 2020

How does one define Independence? Does it mean having a Driver’s License and the ability to drive; or the freedom to grocery shop and prepare meals on your own? Some would argue that having a Chauffer or a Personal Chef does not make an individual any less independent… this poses the question: What does independence mean to you?

The answer may well depend on your age and life circumstances. At BrightStar Care® of Delray Beach, our goal is to help the seniors in our community maintain their independence; whatever that means to them! We do this by providing assistance with Activities of Daily Living, allowing seniors the opportunity to stay at home as long as it is a safe option, and by creating an environment that encourages social interaction for the highest quality of life. February is National Senior Independence Month; so as the month comes to a halfway point, it is the perfect time for seniors to celebrate the independence they enjoy and to plan ahead to maintain that independence.

Since maintaining independence is a major factor in the quality of life our seniors experience, BrightStar Care® of Delray Beach’s Nurse-Led Services ensure that the care you have is always structured around the care you need, and want; as that is the key to improving quality of life! We understand that maintaining independence can be tricky for seniors. Knowing what to hold onto and what to let go of is a tough road to navigate, especially for someone who has lived independently for many years. Accepting in-home help is a big step for many seniors. But when changes need to happen for the seniors in the greater Delray Beach, Boca Raton, and Boynton Beach area, all family members can and should focus on the positive aspects of those changes! Asking for and accepting help when it is needed is a positive and empowering step toward staying independent.

BrightStar Care of Delray Beach® knows how overwhelming the responsibility of finding quality care can be; and we know that healthcare is never "one-size fits all." Each member of our team is committed to delivering A Higher Standard of Care for each and every family in our Community. We believe it is our mission to ensure you and your loved ones have all the tools and information you need to make the best decision for your family. Know that it is okay to ask for help from an accredited Agency such as BrightStar Care of Delray Beach® if the physical demands become too much. If there’s anything you need at any point in time during your decision-making, please do not hesitate to contact our team; able to be reached 24/7 at 561.921.0550. We strive to be the reliable, dependable force you and your family count on when it comes to seeking a higher standard of homecare.
