I would like to write a review for some of the people who work for Bright Star Care of Central DuPage. My brother-in-law, John Nicholson, came home after 4 months in 3 hospitals. We hired Bright Star for him. At first he had 24/7 nursing care. The 2nd full week he had one nurse from 7-7 daily named Nuell Miao. He was fantastic both with my brother-in-law and my sister. He handled all the medications, tube feeding, worked with John on mouth/tongue exercises, helping him begin to eat small amounts of minced and moist foods. He accompanied them to his first GP visit and gave valuable information to the doctor. He patiently taught my sister about the medicine schedule and how to do the tube feeding properly 4 times a day. On his last day, he fixed up a 3-ring binder for her outlining the medicine schedule and directions and advice on how to deal with any tube feeding situations. My sister used that binder for weeks afterwards. Then we switched to regular caregivers and soon settled in with Edward Dayanannamuah during the day and Aspen Hayward at night. Edward began to work with John on various daily exercises and soon had my sister joining them, too. When the director of Bright Star came to visit and evaluate her workers several weeks later, she was astonished at the improvement John had made. With Aspen taking over at night, we were confident my sister could get some sleep knowing John as in good hands. Aspen was great with bedtime procedures, helping John in the mornings with dressing and showers and often fixed breakfast. I give these 3 people much credit for the improvement John has made, enough so that I was able to come back home after 4 months, knowing I was leaving John and Nancy in good hands. Hands that were willing, patient, compassionate and knowledgeable. Thank you Bright Star for hiring such good people and sending them to us. I also give credit to Jessica the scheduler, for working with me for weeks in setting up the various schedules and assigning the "right" people. Sharon Whittaker My sister could not share her review so I will share it for her - "After serious Surgery and and four months in various hospitals we brought my husband home to recover. I credit BrightStar with his recovery. he was so weak we had to start with 24/7 care. He started with 24/7 nursing care. with Nuell. Miao. Not having medical training, Nuell worked with me to learn how to give meds and tube feeding. We started with me watching and ended with me doing it and Neuell watching and teaching. He was thorough and patient and made sure I knew what I was doing. As time passed we progressed to 24 hour caregivers. We started in a routine mostly with Aspen Hayward at night and Edward Dayababbanuah during the daytime. We couldn't have been happier. With Aspen at night I could sleep knowing he was in good hands. She was in charge of night care and getting him up, showered and dressed and had breakfast in the mornings Edward was in charge of getting him moving, walking out side and routine exercises and taking him to doctors and hospitals checkups. John was having a good time while his health improved and they invited me to join them in the exercises. When Bight Start made a routine house/caregiving check, they couldn't believe how much progress he had made under their care. I really felt Bright Star took the time to match the client with the caregiver. And I thank Bright star caregivers and staff for helping with Johns recovery - Nancy"

When I needed help with my father and did not know where to turn, I was told about BrightStar Care. They jumped right in helped immediately! Several people from BrightStar reached out to me to see how they could help. I started out with caregivers for 4 hours, then added a nurse and then additional caregiver for the evening. All was done sleamlessly! When my dad was taken to the hospital it was easy to cancel the care I had already set up. Each caregiver were attentive and dad liked them all. I do have to give a HUGE shoutout to one person. Shawna Green was my first point of contact and she was the nurse who attended to my dad. She answered all of my questions and concerns day and night. If BrightStar hires all like Shawna, DO NOT HESITATE to call them. I did call a competitor early in my search and never got a response. Brightstar and Shawna eased my mind and supplied the help I needed.

Words cannot describe the amazing level of care I’ve been receiving from BrightStar Care, starting with operations to figure out insurance, to owner Diane, truly going above and beyond, and to Becky coming out last minute if my material needed adjustments. My true hero, though, is my nurse, Keyanna C., who has become like family, while providing me excellent nursing care. Her attention to detail with wound care and progress, but also equally important, her caring for me emotionally during an extremely hard time. Keyanna C is the most dedicated, caring, talented, patient and loving nurse I’ve had, and I’d highly encourage anyone in need of home nursing care or beyond to call BrightStar.
