Ribbon Cutting – October 1

BrightStar Care of Central DuPage officially celebrated the opening of our new Bloomingdale, IL office on Thursday, October 1, with a memorable ribbon-cutting ceremony!

We were honored to welcome Mayor and Village President Franco A. Coladipietro, Shelly Sun Berkowitz, Founder of BrightStar Care, and more than 20 Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce members. Over 40 friends, family members, and referral partners also joined us to celebrate this exciting milestone. The turnout was so impressive that Mayor Coladipietro remarked it was one of the largest he had ever seen!

Guests enjoyed refreshments, cookies from Jaroch’s Bakery, an office tour, and the opportunity to connect with our team and community partners.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and supported us as we begin this exciting new chapter. We look forward to continuing to build meaningful partnerships and serving individuals and families throughout Central DuPage and the surrounding communities.

Addison Park District Resource Fair

BrightStar Care of Central DuPage recently joined the Addison Park District Resource Fair, where Leonard Sanchez and Sabrina Srihari had the opportunity to connect with local residents and share information about our home care services and resources available to Veterans through the VA. We were proud to be part of an event focused on connecting the community with valuable healthcare and support resources.

Leonard and Sabrina also helped educate families about the Medicare GUIDE Model, which may provide eligible individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or another qualifying dementia diagnosis with up to 72 hours of respite care per year at no out-of-pocket cost. We are grateful for opportunities like this to answer questions, connect families with resources, and remain continually in your corner throughout Central DuPage and the surrounding communities.

Best of Bloomingdale Awards Dinner

BrightStar Care of Central DuPage was honored to be nominated for the Best of Bloomingdale awards. We had a wonderful evening attending the awards dinner on September 24th and celebrating alongside the many local businesses and organizations recognized throughout the community.

While we did not take home an award, we are incredibly grateful to have been nominated. It’s no small accomplishment to be recognized alongside businesses that have been winning these awards year after year! We’re proud to be part of the Bloomingdale community and look forward to continuing to build relationships and serve local families.

It was a wonderful evening of connection, celebration, and recognizing the businesses that help make Bloomingdale such a great place to live and work.

Senior Health Fair – September 26

BrightStar Care of Central DuPage participated in the Senior Health Fair on Saturday, September 26, from 10 AM–1 PM at the York Center Park District in Lombard, IL. This free community event was hosted by Representatives Diane Blair-Sherlock, Marti Deuter, and Margaret DeLaRosa, along with Senator Suzy Glowiak Hilton, and featured a variety of valuable resources and information for seniors and their families.

Our BrightStar Care of Central DuPage team was there to connect with attendees, share information about our in-home care services, and discuss how we can help seniors remain safe, comfortable, and supported at home. We were grateful for the opportunity to be part of this valuable community event.

Double CEU Event | Sept. 23rd | Winfield, IL

BrightStar Care and community partners brought nearly 40 nurses, LSWs, and LCSWs together at Cooper’s Corner Restaurant in Winfield, IL for two engaging CEU sessions: It Takes a Village: Ethical Issues & Their Resolution and Keep Calm & Carry On: When Dealing with Families & Dementia.

Led by Kate Krallitsch, Director of Operations at Care Navigators, the event focused on ethical challenges, collaboration, workplace conflict, and supporting families navigating dementia—all while enjoying great food and meaningful networking.

Wood Dale Community Connections & Medicare GUIDE Program Presentation

Leonard recently visited one of our local park districts at the beginning of September, to enjoy an afternoon of bingo, pizza, and September birthday celebrations, sponsored by BrightStar Care of Central DuPage. While there, he connected with residents and shared information about GUIDE, a Medicare benefit program for eligible individuals living at home with dementia. 

Eligible participants may receive up to 72 hours of respite care each year at no out-of-pocket cost for the covered respite benefit, providing family caregivers with a much-needed break while their loved one continues receiving support at home. We’re proud to be part of our local community, celebrating milestones, building connections, and sharing resources that can support local families.

2026 DuPage Veterans Resource Fair

On August 25, 2026, Sabrina and Leonard were proud to represent BrightStar Care of Central DuPage at the 2026 Veterans Resource Fair in Wheaton. 

They connected with more than 60 veteran-focused organizations and spoke with veterans and their families about available resources, including VA Home Care benefits for veterans and eligible spouses. We’re honored to support our local veteran community and help families connect with care resources that can make a difference.
