Job openings vary based on current staffing needs, patient census, and service demand.

Both roles are important for our home care services, but the responsibilities, required credentials, and scope of practice are different. In-home caregivers primarily assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and non-medical support, while in-home nurses provide skilled nursing care, such as medication management, wound care, infusions, and other medical treatments.

What qualifications do I need to work with BrightStar Care® of Flower Mound? 

Qualifications vary by position, but candidates must meet the education, licensing, experience, screening, and competency requirements for the role they are applying for. Depending on the position, qualifications may include: 

• relevant professional experience 
• previous home care or home health experience 
• active license or certification (when applicable) 
• valid driver's license with reliable transportation 

Applicants must also complete required pre-employment screening, which may include a background check and drug screening.

We match employees with clients based on the client’s care plan, which helps determine the required skills and experience needed. We also consider factors such as scheduling availability, personality, client preferences, communication style, and geographic distance for home care assignments. Our goal is to create a good fit from both a care and personal perspective while making sure the employee is qualified to safely provide every service required by the client’s care plan. 

We offer PRN, part-time, full-time, daytime, evening, overnight, weekend, and flexible scheduling opportunities, depending on available assignments. Because home care and home health services may be needed around the clock, assignments can vary significantly in length and timing. 

Caregiver and nursing opportunities may include short visits, longer shifts, overnight assignments, weekends, or ongoing recurring schedules. Therapy and other clinical roles may also involve visit-based schedules determined by client needs and care plan.

The hiring process for caregivers, nurses, and therapists at our Flower Mound office typically includes an application, recruiter screening, in-person interview, onboarding, and competency verification. 

Candidates selected for employment must complete the required onboarding paperwork and pre-employment screening and participate in orientation, initial training, and competency sign-offs before being considered for client home care assignments.
