  • Susan Nimnuan, CDP, CLTC

    Vice President
Contact by Phone or Text: 239-300-1884
    Email: Susan.Nimnuan@BrightStarCare.com

Susan Nimnuan is a dedicated and accomplished professional with a diverse background in business management and healthcare. She graduated from Western Michigan University in 2005 with dual bachelor's degrees in Business Management and Criminal Justice.

Prior to relocating to Florida in 2012, Susan resided in Michigan, where she worked in and eventually managed the Radiology Department at St. Joseph Mercy Health System in Howell for 7 years. In 2013, she joined BrightStar Care and quickly climbed the ranks, starting as Director of Operations and eventually becoming the Vice President. Susan believes that to be an effective and quality leader, one needs to truly understand each role, which is why she has worked in each department and role of BrightStar as she was working her way up the ladder. She strives to be a leader, not a manager, and understands the complexities and realities of those she oversees. Susan's work with her team today is creating the healthcare workers and leaders of tomorrow.

In addition to her professional achievements, Susan is a member of the C12 Group since 2021. The C12 Group is America's leading Christian CEO roundtable, executive coaching, and business advisory group. Susan actively volunteers with the Alzheimer's Association, participating in both the Lee County and Collier County fundraisers. She also volunteers with the Parkinson's Association of SWFL, a cause close to her heart due to her grandfather lived with Parkinson's disease. Susan has dedicated her time to various fundraising events and serves as the Chair for their premier fundraising luncheon, "A Step Forward: Overcoming Obstacles."

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Susan demonstrated exceptional leadership by organizing and leading two significant programs. She set up a free testing clinic for staff, clients, and healthcare professionals, and became the only private duty in-home care agency in Florida to become a COVID-19 vaccine provider. Susan and her team vaccinated over 500 homebound individuals, their families, and caregivers in Southwest Florida, including two vaccination events for veterans. Her dedication to ensuring equal access to vaccines for those who couldn't navigate online systems or physically attend vaccine sites earned her national recognition.

After Hurricane Ian in 2022, Susan led a program to assist caregivers and clients severely impacted by the storm. Through fundraising efforts, they provided support for home repairs, temporary housing, transportation, clothing, personal care needs, and food. Susan witnessed the devastation firsthand and was able to help rebuild lives within her community.

Susan's commitment to continuous learning is evident through her certifications as a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC), and Certified Dementia Live Coach. She is dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest knowledge in aging and senior care to better serve her clients and community. Additionally, Susan serves as a consultant for Thesus Health, a company launching a new Medication Management and Medical Device in the fall of 2024. She is also participating in a Medicare pilot program called GUIDE, Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience, which provides comprehensive support and care for people living with or caring for a person with dementia. This is an 8 year program that will feature financial support and clinical guidance for a comprehensive package of person-centered assessments and care plans, care coordination and care management, caregiver education and support, and respite services.

Furthermore, Susan is thrilled to realize her long-held aspiration of launching a podcast centered around senior care and resources. Her vision is to create a platform where individuals can access reliable and comprehensive information dedicated to every aspect of planning for the aging process. Susan has witnessed countless clients and their families’ facing crises without a plan or a starting point. They often find themselves receiving a late-night phone call from aging parents reporting a fall or waking up to find a spouse in distress. She has also observed people seeking advice from well-meaning neighbors, friends, or even on the golf course, unaware that even with good intentions, such advice can sometimes be detrimental. Susan recognizes that everyone's aging journey is unique, influenced by factors such as diagnosis, insurance coverage, family support, financial resources, and the array of available options for meeting aging needs. She aims to create a safe space that destigmatizes conversations about aging wishes and parents' aging, fostering a community that encourages these discussions. By doing so, Susan hopes to ensure that more people have a realistic and personalized plan in place that aligns with their individual desires and aspirations. Together with her co-host, Bruce, she is committed to providing valuable insights and information to a wide-ranging audience.

In her personal life, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband, Chad, and their dogs Riley and Ralphie. She also has a passion for cruise vacations, chip and guacamole, and playing the card games Phase 10 and Wizard.

Susan Nimnuan's dedication, leadership, and commitment to making a positive impact in the healthcare industry and the community are truly inspiring.

“I have found my professional destiny at BrightStar and look forward each day to the opportunity to help seniors live their best life”.  Susan Nimnuan, Vice President

  • Riley Nimnuan

    Director of Food Inspection
Riley Bear Joseph Nimnuan, a 10 year old Morkie, is a former resident of Michigan, where he was rescued at the age of 3 ½ months from an unfathomable situation. Riley is the company’s Director of Food Inspection, and feels food is only enjoyed with accompanying condiments, he possesses a discriminating palate.  When he is not scouting out lunches in the office, he enjoys swimming but only if the water is prepped at 80+ degrees, loves playing fetch, and is devoted to his girlfriend Teddy, his daddy and mom – in that order. Riley is full of love, smiles and an occasional growl if condiments can not be found.
Riley currently prefers working ½ days as he is in semi-retirement. He strongly believes in more of a life of leisure
    Riley Nimnuan
  • Ralphie Nimnuan

    Director of Desk Inspection
Born Ralphie Bear John Nimnuan, named after a Christmas Story – you’ll shoot your eye out!-  is a purebred Morkie, was raised in Ft. Myers and was the largest in his litter. This big boy is our Director of Desk Inspection, although is creeping into his brother’s role of Food Inspection as he loves food, especially his grandpa’s spice Thai dishes. Ralphie hates care rides unless he’s coming to work or going to grandma’s house.  He thoroughly enjoys inspecting all staff member’s desks, numerous times a day, and will help himself to a nap on one if the feeling strikes him. Ralphie likes to be at eye level will all the he comes in contact with, thus making him extremely efficient at work and home. When he is not at work, Ralphie likes to relax in his personal boat in his pool, and needs to work for income to sustain his life of luxury. Although Ralphie is his mother’s best friend and confidant, he would prefer to go to work with his Daddy.
