David Strassburg was born in North Carolina, grew up in South Carolina, and moved to Alabama in 1991 to attend the University of Alabama, where he was a member of the Alabama Swimming and Diving Team and an NCAA All-American and All-SEC swimmer. After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1995 with a BS degree in Biology, David attended law school from 1996-1999. While attending law school, David’s accomplishments included: Editor of the Alabama Law Review; National Moot Court Team member; Moot Court Board member; class senator; and Magna Cum Laude. After practicing as an attorney for approximately 16 years, with a heavy focus in the defense of health care providers, David formed Riviera Health Services, LLC in 2015 and purchased his first of several BrightStar Care locations. In 2017, David and his team rapidly expanded into Florida. By 2021, David’s enterprise included 8 BrightStar Care territories, spanning from the Alabama/Mississippi State line to beyond Gainesville, Florida, including areas throughout lower Alabama and the entire Florida Panhandle. In August 2022, David sold those 8 territories to a BrightStar Owned company and stayed on in his current role as Regional Vice President of Florida and Alabama Operations.

Amie Morris’s professional background includes nursing and education. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master’s in Education. She joined BrightStar Care in 2016 as our Director of Nursing. She joined our BrightStar Care team because she was impressed with the higher standard of care that our Joint Commission accreditation affords. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, and her 2 children, going to the beach, travelling, and playing tennis. She lives in Fairhope, AL.

Prior to starting her career at BrightStar Care as our HR Director, Cara was a medical social worker at a large hospital. She received her MBA from the University of South Alabama and was quickly promoted to Branch Manager. Cara chose to come on board with BrightStar because she wanted to do something more meaningful and appreciates the difference BrightStar can make in people's lives. Cara values teamwork and building strong relationships with clients and coworkers. 

 

Jenny graduated from Pensacola State College in 2012 and has a background in critical care, psych and home health. She is originally from Birmingham
and moved to Baldwin County in 2006. A mother of two boys, former soccer coach and cub scout leader. She enjoys spending time at the beach and painting.

Christina joined the BrightStar Care team in 2017. She was new to the Home Health industry but soon found her niche. She started as an administrative assistant and was quickly promoted to Human Resource Director. Christina graduated from Faulkner State University with her Associate Degree and is currently working on obtaining her Bachelor's in Health Care Administration to pursue her passion. Christina enjoys spending time with her family, going to the mountains, and cooking.

Sara grew up in North Carolina and attended Mars Hill University for two years before moving to Alabama and graduating Magna Cum Laude from Faulkner University with dual BS degrees in Business Management and Finance.  After graduating Sara worked for 10 years in Banking Management and Trust before transitioning into Medical Office Management giving her a unique background in both finance and medical billing.  Sara started with Brightstar Care in 2019 and now manages both the Payroll and Billing departments.

Kasey began her career with BrightStar Care in July of 2018. She is responsible for scheduling field staff, managing customer/client relations, client care standards, and ensuring the branch meets and exceeds customer/employee expectations. Kasey’s compassion for helping people along with her interest in healthcare has enabled her to excel in her career at BrightStar by improving the lives of those we serve by ensuring they receive the coverage and care they need

Matthew began his career with BrightStar Care in February of 2022. His professional background is in healthcare and customer service. Matthew has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is currently working on his master’s degree from the University of South Alabama. When he isn't working, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and new puppy, Levi.

 

Prior to joining the BrightStar Care team, Melissa spent over 15 years working at an Alzheimer’s and Dementia SCALF as the Unit Coordinator. She also has experience in retail management, teaching Pre-K and working for an oral surgeon. Caring for others has always been important to Melissa. The opportunity to help those in need is a passion for Melissa, whether caring for her premature special needs daughter, caring for elderly grandparents, volunteering at the local nursing home, or volunteering at the local fire department.
As the administrative assistant, she is passionate about building relationships and being the critical bridge between the office staff, field staff and our clients. Melissa never meets a stranger. She is comfortable with interactions with individuals from all walks of life. As the first point of contact for BrightStar clients, she believes that it is vital that she leave a great first impression of herself and BrightStar.
