Frequently Asked Questions

BrightStar Care of Lane County strives to hire quality home care professionals. Not only do we expect all caregivers and nurses to be trained, certified, and/or licensed in accordance with Oregon state law, but we also require background checks, drug screens, physicals, tuberculosis (TB) tests, and CPR certification for all care team members at our home care agency.

To work as a non-medical caregiver in the state of Oregon, you do not need to obtain a professional license. However, certified nursing assistants (CNAs) may need to meet additional training requirements per Oregon state law.

To work as a caregiver with BrightStar Care of Lane County, you must have current CPR certification and pass a background check, drug screen, physical, and tuberculosis (TB) test.

When working with our Lane County home care agency, the number of clients you’ll care for varies based on your schedule, your skills, and our current client needs. It’s likely you’ll care for one or more clients throughout the week. However, we work hard to maintain small client-to-caregiver ratios to avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure caregivers can build strong relationships with their clients.
