In Recognition of BrightStar Care Las Vegas Nurses
Thanks to our Director of Nursing, Darcy Tumminello, RN, BSN for her loving care, hospitality, and generous hard work and her amazing team of nurses.
This May, we celebrate nurses all month long. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the American Nurses Association expanded National Nurses Week, traditionally celebrated from May 6 to May 12 each year, to a month-long celebration in May. What was observed during National Nurses Week and International Nurses Day is now known as National Nurse Month. We are grateful for this opportunity to elevate and celebrate nursing all month!
As our Director of Nursing, Darcy oversees all of Las Vegas's medical and non-medical home health care teams, including RNs, CNAs, LVNs, and Home Health Aides. She is responsible for developing all client care plans and oversight. Every day, she has been on the front lines to help keep our patients and clients safe at home. There are no words to describe how much we appreciate everything you do and your dedication to caring for others in need. You represent BrightStar Care's core values in all you do, and we are proud of you!
Darcy joined BrightStar in June 2018. She has 25+ years of professional experience, including assisted living, rural and migrant healthcare, emergency medicine, staff development, and geriatric health and wellness. Darcy began her career in nursing as an LPN through the Emily Griffith Opportunity School pilot program to provide a single woman with children an education and career path to enhance an improved socioeconomic future. She graduated with High Distinction and was named the "Adult Participant of the Year," speaking before the House and Senate on the success and attrition of this unique program. Darcy went on to achieve her RN and her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She is a member of the American Nurses Association-Nevada, and holds certification as a Certified Assisted Living Nurse and Memory Impairment Specialist. To learn more about Darcy, CLICK HERE
Nurses work hard, taking care of patients, and their kindness helps patients feel better. During the pandemic, our nurse's everyday tasks have gone above and beyond to keep clients happy and safe. Darcy leads our team's safety efforts, and her disease prevention training and leadership helps save lives.
