Brian Silven
President and OwnerHaving spent the last 35 years in healthcare, Brian's passion for helping others began early on. Having earned a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Rhode Island and his MBA from Bryant University in the mid 1990s while working 2 jobs and raising a young family, Brian has turned his attention toward helping people stay safe and independent at home. This includes seniors, adults and even children with homecare support needs. Having experienced the critical impacts of establishing quality standards and measureables for success, Brian and his wife Maureen, a Tuft's graduate and career educator, opened their BrightStar Care office with the intent on bringing the same level of quality and integrity to homecare, provided loved ones with the same care and compassion as they would seek for thier own family. “In a state like MA, many families in search of trustworthy support for an aging loved one at home, are simply overwhelmed by the number an variety of homecare options. More alarming is in MA, there is no licensing required by the state for homecare providers, so there is very little, if any, oversight. This can be a challenging journey. We understand this at BrightStar Care and we have taken the necessary steps to provide families with the highest possible assurances and trust". By earning and maintaining voluntary accreditation by The Joint Commission, the nation's gold standard in healthcare quality, by providing a nurse-led model for homecare and by maintaining the most stringent employee screening practices available, Brian and his team's focus on quality care, clinical leadership and trust aims for a higher standard of homecare. "Building trust with our families is critical, not only for our success, but more importantly for theirs".
BrightStar Care is a private pay, clinical model of homecare providing a broader scope of medical and non-medical homecare services. We offer more support options to support families care for loved ones at home, whether needing companion, personal or nursing care. With our model, we are also able to supplement the limited services of a Medicare-certified homecare provider, continuing with in-home care plans and family respite for a loved one recoving from a hospitalization at home. -

What would you tell families who are looking for care options for their loved ones about BrightStar Care?
“We will take care of your family members as if they were our own. When I talk to a client or family member, I always put myself in their shoes. This helps me better understand their needs. I think this comes from my experience from a sick loved one. My mother had a rare disease and was bed bound for over 10 years of her life. I have been there, and it can be an emotional roller coaster. I want to listen to our clients, and my first thoughts always are around how can we help navigate this difficult time, and help to put the right care supports in place, so that you can go back to being the adult child or spouse, and no longer the caregiver. -
