Tracy Overla entered the home care field after experiencing how hard it can be to find reliable, compassionate care for a loved one. Supporting his own mother showed him the impact that skilled, caring professionals can have on families, inspiring his commitment to serve his community. He chose BrightStar Care for its clinical excellence, and RN-led oversight, ensuring every client receives safe, personalized, high-quality care. Before owning BrightStar Care of East Lake County and West Lake County, Tracy spent 17 years in leadership at a major automotive dealership in Merrillville, Indiana, building strong customer service and people focused skills. Today, he leads a team dedicated to providing exceptional home care throughout Lake County, treating every client with the same compassion and respect he would want for his own family.

Kelly began her healthcare career as a Certified Nursing Assistant while pursuing her Registered Nurse (RN) degree. After earning her RN in 2013, she gained over a decade of experience in the Intermediate Care Unit, where she provided high-acuity patient care and developed strong clinical expertise. She went on to serve as a Clinical Nurse Leader for three years, guiding care teams and supporting quality patient outcomes at a local hospital. In 2018, Kelly further advanced her education by earning her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus in Nursing Education, reinforcing her commitment to clinical excellence, staff development, and patient-centered care.

While in nursing school, our Assistant Director of Nursing gained early experience in home care and as a technician at St. Margaret’s in Hammond. After graduating, she spent a year on a med-surg floor in Indianapolis before returning home to work 15 years in critical care at St. Margaret’s. She later transitioned to home care and now brings her experience to BrightStar. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their two teenage sons. Outside of her professional role, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two teenage sons.

As the Relationship Manager for BrightStar Care of Lake County, Torry focuses on building strong community connections and expanding referral partnerships. She works closely with clients and families during intake to ensure a smooth, supportive start to care, always prioritizing compassion and clear communication. Having supported her own mother through care needs, she understands firsthand the emotions families experience when seeking help for a loved one. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.

Damari Ramos is the Recruiting Manager at BrightStar, supporting the full hiring process for caregivers, home health aides, nurses, and any additional roles needed across the organization. With four years of HR experience, she has worked extensively in recruiting, onboarding, and implementing process improvements that create meaningful, positive change. She enjoys running and hiking with her dog Benji in her free time.

As BrightStar Care’s Client Intake and Marketing Coordinator, Jennifer Hernandez offers a gentle, reassuring presence to families taking their first steps toward care. With experience in social media, marketing, and PR, she blends creativity with compassion, making every interaction feel personal and every message feel meaningful. She loves to travel and believes every trip brings a new story worth sharing.

Adrienne serves as Staffing Coordinator for BrightStar Care of Lake County, where she carefully coordinates caregiver schedules to ensure every client receives dependable, high-quality care. Her attention to detail and commitment to service help create a seamless experience for both clients and caregivers.

Whitney is a dedicated nurse at BrightStar Care of Lake County who earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ball State University. With 10 years of experience in the Emergency Room, she brings strong clinical skills and the ability to handle a wide range of care needs. She has been a valued member of the BrightStar team for over 6 years, providing compassionate, high-quality care to every client she serves.
