At BrightStar Care of S. San Fernando Valley, We Serve with Passion, Do the Right Thing and Make it Great
John Mason, President/Owner After graduating from college and spending a short time in physical therapy, I got a job in the pharmaceutical industry. A 20-year career followed, with experience in sales, training, marketing, and sales management. I found I had moved a long way from caring for patients - my original reason for pursuing a career in healthcare. I combined my passion for patient care and knowledge of the medical industry and became a BrightStar owner. Now I am delivering on the promise I made to myself many years ago — to help people. I live in Sherman Oaks, with my wonderful wife Evelyn and two beautiful daughters, Mia and Sarah.
Veronica Garcia, Manager of Operations I have worked in staffing and customer service for many years. The combination of good people with good processes is my passion, and I work to achieve that combination every day. Whether I’m matching the right caregiver to the right client, or responding to customer needs, I always put the customer first.
Bernadette Lucas, RN, Director of Nursing After graduating from Seattle University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing I have worked for over 40 years as an RN. From many years in hospital nursing, to owning/operating 2 elder care facilities where I specialized in dementia care, a nursing instructor for health care professionals and nursing students to Home Health and Hospice nursing. I am passionate about combing compassion, empathy and patience to all I serve. As a new nurse, I returned to Seattle University to obtain specialized education to care for the family unit as I understood that illness affects the entire family. My emphasis is the well being of patients, families, co workers and the public at large. I feel an obligation to share my knowledge and experience and to be a caring, role model/educator for all. I am a problem solver and am relentless in finding solutions that improve outcomes. I am a patient/family advocate. My extensive experience enables accurate assessments through critical thinking, attention to detail and excellent communication.
Johanna Vidal, HR and Recruiting I have always focused on providing great customer service. In my role at Brightstar, I work hard to bring the best people into our company, to help provide the best service we can in the home.
Mary Vidal, Customer Care Manager My passion for helping people and making a difference brought me to Brightstar. I work to bring that passion every day to each person we help, and am proud of the service we provide.
