Jennifer Ensminger, Owner/Administrator
A Washington State native, Jennifer has been managing in health care related fields since 1999. Because she was President and COO of an orthopedic specialty hospital in Los Angeles California as well as the Chief Administrative Officer of a two-hospital system in Eugene and Springfield, she has an immense knowledge of the healthcare industry and what it takes to build and sustain a healthy company with happy employees, strong policies and excellent training practices. In 2014 Jennifer decided to open BrightStar Care of Lane County because she felt there was limited options for a quality in-home care agency in our area and thought she could create a company based on strong core values and by appreciating her employees who would in-turn provide premium care for her clients. Her mission is to provide the highest quality care to our clients and give peace of mind to families in need of specialized care for just about any situation imaginable. She has her Bachelors in Science from Whitman College in Walla Walla Washington and her Masters of Business Administration from Pepperdine University in Malibu California. She has an amazing husband with three wonderful teenagers in school in Eugene and Corvallis who enjoy everything the outdoors has to offer as well as learning new vegan recipes and perfecting her gardening abilities each year.
Nichole Fry, Registered Nurse
Nichoel Fry is our new Registered Nurse. She is also an Oregon native and loves everything about family and being an awesome nurse educator. Nichoel has four wonderful children and is an avid gamer! She has been an Oregon registered nurse since 2011, received her initial degree from Lane Community College, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland Oregon and graduated summa cum laude. Finally, Nichoel received her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City Utah. She worked at the Lane County Adult Corrections Facility here in Eugene for two years and now is the regional nurse for the Eugene School District for 4J. Besides specializing in equity, mental health, nursing education, protocols, safety, supervision and nurse leadership, Nichoel has had the honor of being the "School Nurse of the Year 2020" for the Oregon School Nurses Association, the recipient of the "Excellence in Public Health Award 2019" from Lane County Public Health, and the recipient of the "Carol A. Lindeman Award for Excellence in Nursing, Research, Innovative Leadership and a Vision for Healthcare 2013" from the Oregon Health and Science University. Nichoel is now responsible for all medication administration training, medication administration compliance and management, agency clinical compliance with Oregon Health Authority and the Joint Commission, and initial and follow up client assessment management and compliance.
Keeli Brown, Customer Care and Billing Manager
Originally from Oregon, Keeli moved to Alaska as a young girl before moving back to Oregon after high school to attend Oregon State University in Corvallis. She has worked in the healthcare field for twenty years, starting as a Certified Nursing Assistant and then becoming a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. Keeli spent ten years working in long term care management before running the medical clinic at the county jail for several years. Keeli started with BrightStar Care in 2016 as a CMA but is now one of our assessment coordinators and our amazing Billing and Finance Manager. She loves both roles as she enjoys the clinical and administrative sides of healthcare in an in-home care and soon to be home health agency. Keeli has a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice and Social Work from OSU and a Medical Assistant degree in Healthcare Administration from Ashford University in Birmingham Alabama. Besides her many hats at BrightStar Care of Lane County, Keeli is a CPR instructor with the American Heart Association. She loves being an educator more than any job she has ever had. She believes there is no better job in the world then preparing adults for new and successful careers in the healthcare field.
Debbie Taylor, Human Resources
An Oregon native, Debbie has lived in this area her entire life. She attended Lane Community College where she studied Business Administration. Debbie has been married to her husband since 1993, who is also an Oregon native. She has amazing daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter and grandson. Her family is the most important thing in her life. She absolutely loves being a grandma. Debbie started her career in healthcare working at a local oncology specialty clinic in Eugene where she worked for over eighteen years. While working at the cancer center she built their first human resources department and ran it for over seven years. Though she has worked in various healthcare roles both clinical and administrative, her passion is in Human Resources. Debbie has been in the human resources field since 2010. She decided to pursue a career in in-home healthcare because she is very passionate about finding the best healthcare workers so they can focus on giving clients excellent care. Debbie enjoys everything outdoors but especially loves fishing, camping, and DYI home projects! Living a healthy lifestyle is very important so she likes to hike and run but her passion is Yoga. Being a part of BrightStar Care of Lane County, Debbie will be able to support our mission to provide the highest quality care to our clients and give peace of mind to families in need of specialized care.
Keliko Hunter, Customer Care Associate
Keliko has been with BrightStar Care since June of 2019 and has been one of our most beloved and requested caregivers in the field. Most recently, he has been awarded Employee of the Month for February 2020. Born and raised in Hawaii, Keliko moved to Oregon in 2006 and immediately began working in medical records for a private practice on the coast while studying Health Information Systems. After moving to Eugene, he worked as an IT contractor with Amazon's Project mTurk, and began in home caregiving for adults with developmental disabilities, before transitioning to elder care. Keliko is excited that his new role in the office allows him to blend his extensive experience with information technology and caregiving, as well as interact with all levels of care, and thrives in the multifaceted environment of BrightStar Care. In his free time, he enjoys playing videogames with his wife and four brothers, and reading with his cats, Caspian and Aela. Fun fact, Keliko's full first name is twenty letters long!
Telessa Cuddeback, Customer Care Associate
Telessa grew up in a military family that found roots in Junction City. She married her high school sweetheart, Dennis, and together they have three amazingly wonderful daughters. Telessa volunteers with many different organizations, mainly helping children and veterans. Alongside her husband, Telessa has many commercial properties that she helps manage. She has two Red Healers pups named Luke Leia because they are a nerdy Star Wars family! Telessa he is very family oriented and enjoys all activities with her growing family. She got started with BrightStar Care as a caregiver while taking care of her sick uncle who was a veteran. This experience taught her a lot about how the veterans are treated along with more medical knowledge she ever thought she needed to know. Telessa loves to travel and has homes in Libby Montana and La Pine Oregon. Working at Bright Star Care as a CCA and managing scheduling and phone calls is a wonderful fit because she can wear many hats and is excellent at making sure things get checked off the to do list in a timely manner!
